Demon Slayer Complete Box Set (Volumes 1-23) with Premium Part of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba By Koyoharu Gotouge

Why it's worth it

All 23 volumes of Demon Slayer in one sturdy slipcase, along with a double-sided poster and a short bonus art booklet. It's a completed story, so there's nothing left to keep buying and no risk of handing someone a series that stops mid-arc.

A completed series is the safest manga gift you can buy. Ongoing titles put you on the hook for the next volume, and they leave your reader hanging. Demon Slayer ends. All 23 volumes are here, in order, and Koyoharu Gotouge's story finishes the way it was meant to. If your recipient watched the anime and wants to know where it goes, this hands them the whole road at once.

It also reads as a gift, which matters when someone opens it in front of other people. The slipcase closes, so the spines stay clean and dust stays off. Owners consistently mention the poster and the little art booklet as pleasant surprises. And the recognition is high — Demon Slayer has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide, which makes it one of the few titles almost any fan will know.

From our review of 6 gifts for anime fans

What we like

• +A completed series is the safest manga gift you can buy
• +It also reads as a gift, which matters when someone opens it in front of other people
• +Compared with a figure, this asks nothing of their shelf beyond one slot and nothing of you beyond knowing one series
• +The set weighs about fifteen pounds, which tells you something about its presence under a tree and something about shipping it

What to know

• –The obvious risk is duplication
• –The other risk is spoilers
