Why it's worth it

The Pan v3 pans, tilts, zooms and follows movement around a room for a small share of what a Furbo costs. There's no treat dispenser and no pet-specific alerting unless you subscribe, but for simply keeping eyes on the place, it's hard to beat.

It covers more room than cameras costing several times as much. You get 360° of pan and 180° of tilt, plus up to four saved waypoints so the camera cycles through the spots you care about on its own. If your cat rotates between a windowsill, a chair and the top of the fridge, you can set all three and let it patrol. Motion tracking then follows whatever moves, which works well enough on a dog crossing a living room.

You can skip the subscription entirely if you want. Drop in a microSD card and the camera records locally, including continuous recording, with no ongoing fee. That's a real difference from the Furbo and Petcube models, where the cloud is the only path to saved footage. Cam Plus adds pet-specific detection if you want smarter alerts, but the camera is still useful without it.
