Why it's worth it

The SoloCam S340 runs off a small removable solar panel, saves clips to its own microSD card, and pans a full 360 degrees, so one camera can watch a porch, a driveway, and a side gate. None of that costs you a subscription.

The solar panel is the whole reason to buy this one. It clips on, points at the sky, and in a spot with four or more good hours of sun a day it tops the battery off faster than the camera drains it. No ladder, no charging cable, no dead camera the week you're away. Under a deep porch roof or on a shaded north wall, though, you're back to pulling it down a few times a year.

One camera here can cover more than one thing. The S340 pans a full circle and tilts, so a single unit on a corner eave watches the driveway, the front walk, and the gate down the side. Detail holds up well out to about 40 feet by eufy's spec, with 8x zoom for a closer look. Past that you'll see that someone was there, not who it was.
