Hikenture Beach Wagon with Balloon Wheels, 9" PU Tires Collapsible Wagon

Why it's worth it

This folding wagon rides on 9-inch PU balloon wheels built specifically to stay on top of soft sand instead of digging into it. It folds down small enough for a sedan trunk and claims a 440-pound capacity, which is far more than you'll ever load.

The wheels are the whole reason to buy this one. At 9 inches and extra wide, the balloon tires spread your load across more sand instead of cutting a trench through it. That's the difference between walking a loaded wagon and wrestling it. If your beach has a long dry stretch between the lot and the water, this is the spec that matters, and the smaller plastic wheels on most folding wagons simply don't compete here.

Hikenture lists the tires as PU rather than PVC, and says the material won't deform in heat near 110°F. That's a real concern for anyone who leaves gear in a car trunk in July. Four sand-drain holes in the bed let water and grit fall out instead of pooling, which keeps the fabric from staying damp on the drive home.

What we like

• +The wheels are the whole reason to buy this one
• +Hikenture lists the tires as PU rather than PVC, and says the material won't deform in heat near 110°F
• +The capacity claim is generous, and that's fine
• +A 360-degree rotating handle makes this easier to steer through a crowded boardwalk or around a tight corner than a fixed-handle…

What to know

• –The balloon wheels ship uninflated
• –Owner feedback on this one skews positive but has a thicker tail of unhappy buyers than the Mac Sports or Radio Flyer wagons,…
• –There's no canopy and no seating
