Why it's worth it

The J-2000 is the upright you see in tailor shops and dry cleaners. Its solid brass heating element and roughly three-quarter-gallon tank give you about 90 minutes of continuous steam per fill, which is more than most people will ever need in a single session.

Nothing else here works at this scale. Fill it once and you get an hour and a half of steam. The tank holds about three-quarters of a gallon, so a rack of coats, a set of drapes and a wedding dress can all happen in one sitting. Handhelds want a refill every 10 to 20 minutes. That difference is the entire reason this machine exists.

The 1300-watt element is solid brass rather than the aluminum or plated steel in cheaper machines, and the housing is high-impact plastic. That's the construction you find in equipment meant for shop use rather than occasional home use. It's built to get knocked around beside a cutting table, not to look tidy on a shelf.
