Why it's worth it

Gladiator's GearWall panels are solid PVC slatwall in 12-by-48-inch interlocking sections rated to 50 pounds per square foot. They turn a bare stud wall into a surface where you can hang anything, anywhere, and they look good doing it.

Slatwall solves a problem rails don't: coverage. With a rail, accessories live along one horizontal line. With GearWall, the entire panel is a mounting surface, so a ladder can go high and a leaf blower low without any extra hardware. Owners who've done full walls describe moving cabinets and shelves around afterward as trivial.

Solid PVC is the reason to pay up here. Cheaper slatwall is often hollow, and it flexes under a real load. Gladiator's panels are solid through, and buyers who researched before committing say that's specifically what they were paying for. PVC also doesn't care about humidity — no swelling, no rot, no delamination in an unheated garage.
