Why it's worth it

The Econour is a pop-open accordion shade in 240T polyester, sized up to 64 by 32 inches with an 8-inch expandable overlap. It covers most sedans and compact SUVs, deploys in about two seconds, and folds into an included pouch that lives in a door pocket.

It's the one you'll actually use every day. A shade only works if you bother to put it up. The Econour pops open on its own — you unfold it, press it against the glass, drop the visors, and you're done. Folding it back down takes a twist. When you're running late in a parking garage, that difference decides whether the shade ends up on the windshield or in the back seat for the rest of the summer.

The 240T polyester holds up better than thin foil. Cheap mylar shades delaminate after one hot season — the reflective layer bubbles and flakes, and the shade stops reflecting much of anything. The woven polyester here is a different material class. Owners who've kept these through multiple summers report the panel still holds its shape and the coating stays put, which is most of what you want from a product that bakes against glass every day.
