Why it's worth it

The Suptikes is a two-layer silicone strip that sticks to the bottom of your door and closes a gap up to an inch. It's the easiest good seal you can get in ten minutes without tools, and it comes two to a pack so you can do a second door.

Silicone is the reason this one lasts. The Department of Energy says silicone and EPDM rubber survive three to five times more compression cycles than open-cell foam before they lose their spring. That's the difference between a sweep that still seals after a winter of slamming and one that's flattened by March. Foam strips are the default under most doors, and they're the ones that fail first.

The double fin matters more than it sounds. One layer sits against the floor, the other against the door face, so air that slips past the first gets caught by the second.
