Why it's worth it

The Primula is a plain glass carafe with a removable stainless mesh basket, and it holds far more than most inexpensive brewers. Fill the basket, pour cold water over it, leave it overnight, and lift the basket out in the morning. That's the entire process.

Capacity is the surprise here. Most inexpensive brewers top out around a quart; this one holds 1.6 quarts, which is roughly six cups of finished coffee. If you drink one cold brew a day, a Sunday-night batch covers most of the working week. That's a lot of usefulness from the least expensive purpose-built brewer in this guide.

There's nothing to learn and nothing to line up. The filter basket drops in, the lid sits on top, and the whole thing fits in a refrigerator door or on a shelf while it steeps. Owner feedback is remarkably consistent on this point — people who'd never made cold brew before get a drinkable batch on the first try, which isn't true of every brewer here.
