Why it's worth it

Not suitable for high-frequency weight changes.

From our review of 9 adjustable dumbbells, by Eleanor Vance, Health & Beauty Editor

What we like

  • +Exceptional value at $170.94 — the lowest price in our roundup by a significant margin
  • +Traditional cast-iron plates are virtually indestructible under normal use
  • +Fully flexible loading — use any standard plate combination for precise targets
  • +Spin-lock collars are secure, universally available, and inexpensive to replace

What to know

  • –No integrated adjustment mechanism — changing weight takes 60 seconds or more
  • –Entirely impractical for circuit training, HIIT, or any workout requiring fast transitions
  • –Requires dedicated floor or shelf space for loose plates — no compact tray
