Why it's worth it

AT-205 restores hardened rubber instead of chemically forcing it to swell, which is why professional technicians reach for it. One small bottle treats up to 12 quarts and works in engines, differentials and power steering too, not just transmissions.

It fixes the actual cause of most slow leaks. Transmission seals don't usually tear. They dry out — heat and oxidation cook the plasticizers out of the rubber, the seal shrinks away from the shaft, and fluid weeps past. AT-205 puts those plasticizers back so the seal returns to something near its original size. That's restoration, not compensation, and it's why the effect tends to hold better than a swelling agent.

The mechanism is the safe one. The label is explicit that it contains no petroleum distillates and won't over-swell or break down seals. That matters a lot on European transmissions with close-tolerance hydraulics, where a forced-swell product can upset pressure regulation.
