Why it's worth it

These are big 70mm binoculars with 25x magnification, meant for sweeping star fields, lunar craters and Jupiter's moons from a tripod. They're the low-pressure gift: if your recipient never gets serious about astronomy, they'll still use them for birds, boats and the far end of a stadium.
