Why it's worth it

The MX Keys S pairs with three devices and swaps between them with a single dedicated key. The backlight wakes when your hands get close, the keys are dished to catch your fingertips, and it charges over USB-C instead of eating AAAs.

The three device keys across the top row are the whole point. They're dedicated buttons, not an Fn combo you have to remember. PCMag's testing puts hardware switch keys under two seconds versus four to eight for combo implementations, and you feel that difference every single time. Owners describe a short mental adjustment period at first, then it becomes muscle memory. After a week you stop thinking about which machine you're typing on.

Logitech supports Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS out of the box, which matters more than it sounds.
