Why it's worth it

The Halo Collar 5 doesn't just track — it enforces GPS boundaries with sound, vibration and optional static feedback. For yards where a physical fence isn't allowed or practical, it's the most refined virtual fence you can buy for a medium or large dog.

Containment is a different job from tracking, and Halo is built for it. You draw a fence of any shape in the app, around irregular property lines that buried wire could never follow, and the collar warns your dog as she approaches. The positioning hardware is unusually good. It uses dual-frequency L1 and L5 satellites with ground-station corrections, updating twenty times per second, which is what makes a boundary hold steady instead of drifting.
